Katelyn (Kate) Jechel

Lawyer (Counsel)
Family Law

Kate (she/her) is the leader at our Perth office and joined Fresh Legal after gaining extensive experience with both a leading regional full-service law firm and a smaller firm with deep roots in the Perth community.

Kate has practiced family law and civil litigation since 2017, and her practice has focused solely on family law since 2023. Her approach to practice is to provide clients with clear, practical advice, and to ensure they have the information required to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

Her practice involves parenting issues, child and spousal support, division of property, and relocation. Her expertise also includes negotiation and drafting of, as well as independent legal advice on, Cohabitation Agreements, Marriage Contracts, and Separation Agreements. She has experience at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and Divisional Court.

Kate enjoys sharing her knowledge and has been a speaker at events held by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the Frontenac Law Association.

Kate works from our Perth office, and provides services in Ottawa, Perth, Brockville, and Kingston.
